About Giusy
I am a curious individual interested in living a life of purpose, meaning, and service. I was born in Italy, where I spent the first 20 years of my life. From a young age, I was a curious explorer at heart, growing up immersed in the nature of my family's land. I started exploring and healing through dance and movement from age 16 at raves and parties in my area. My first proper psychedelic experience happened when I was 20 with two trusted friends in a woodland. This moment changed the course of my life and my perception of the natural world. My connection to nature and my feeling of belonging to nature were imprinted in my consciousness during that trip.
I moved to London in September 2007, deciding to relocate there to work, live, and travel for a few years. At age 21, I attended my first 10-day Vipassana retreat in Hereford, where I had my first meditation experiences. The notions of equanimity, impermanence, silence, and stillness had a great impact on me. In 2009, I decided to take a sound healing practitioner training with Lesley Carol in Devon. This experience led me to explore shamanic drumming and playing with sounds and vocalisations as a way to explore myself, heal, release, and connect with others. Sacred sound became a great catalyst for connecting with others, and it was during this period that I began hosting a series of events aimed at bringing people together in a safe space for connection and self-expression. These events were held around the London parks and attracted a good number of curious people from all walks of life.
Throughout my 20s and 30s, I explored many aspects of Eastern philosophy: meditation, spiritual practice, chanting, tai chi, chi gong, yoga, dance, and movement, journaling. I trained in holistic massage therapy and spent many consecutive winter months traveling to India with my partner William, volunteering in Goa, and spending countless hours bird-watching on North Goa's plateaus. Swimming in the Arabian Sea, watching the stars, and connecting with a strong alternative, artistic, and nomadic lifestyle. In 2017, it was my interest in psychedelic substances that led me to pursue a BS in Social Psychology and research methods, which I studied part-time at the Open University and graduated with First Class Honours in 2022.
During 2020, I focused my time supporting a project initiated by a group of Swedish friends. This experience taught me what it takes to start an organisation from scratch. Over the years, I supported the organisation, learning a lot about team building and supporting the humans involved in such projects and start-ups. Most recently, I completed the pioneering Transpersonal Coaching Psychology professional training at the Alef Trust. This training helped me come out of my shell and consolidate a long-standing calling of mine: to facilitate, and support people prepare for and integrate their peak or psychedelic experiences through the use of mindfulness – Open Awareness – practices and compassionate witnessing.
